Project DeMystify

Project DeMystify is an initiative to increase the understanding of blood pressure and blood glucose in terms of epidemiology and diagnostic protocols. The diagnostic criteria for classifying diabetes and hypertension have varied greatly over time and continue to vary in different countries. There is no "gold standard" diagnostic criteria yet because we do not fully understand what occurs during diabetes and hypertension and what the root cause of the conditions are. Project DeMystify uses the data accumulated from workshops and booths, provided that participants have consented, to perform statistical analyses on the epidemiology of diabetes, hypertension, and influence of variables on blood pressure and blood glucose. We also intend on researching the importance of blood pressure and blood glucose fluctuations as a key indicator of disease rather than a constant hyper- or hypo- state.
