Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience to attend events?
We host two types of events: clinical and non-clinical.
For clinical events, all members must attend one training session and pass assessments before attending any clinical events. We hold training and assessments at the beginning of each semester. Training consists of learning how to take blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar, etc. After completing the training, members must pass an assessment that tests their knowledge on ability to take blood pressure and knowledge of vital sign readings.
For non-clinical events, no prior experience or training/assessment is required to attend, and we welcome everyone to participate!

What if I don’t have a car?
No worries! When you receive a confirmation email for the event, please respond to the email and let us know that you need to ride to the event. We will do our best to arrange a ride for you!
What do we do at clinical events?
Members will get the opportunity to take blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, fat percentage, and pulse. More importantly, members have the responsibility of interpreting these results and informing participants regarding their vitals.
What should I wear to a clinical event?
Members are provided with a NADI T-shirt during training that must be worn to clinical events. In the event that you are not able to wear a NADI T-shirt, you should wear business casual clothes to events. Khakis or jeans can be worn underneath the shirt. Please do not wear shorts, sweatpants, or ripped jeans.
How many events do I have to go to?
This is totally up to you! We would recommend going to as many events as possible so that you get the most out of this organization. However, if you have a busier semester we understand that you may not be able to attend as many events.
Do I need to get my own equipment?
We give out BP kits that contain a stethoscope and BP cuff at training. These kits plus the T-shirt cost $25. Please bring the kits to every event that you attend.
How do I sign up for training, assessment, and events?
A Training and Assessment spreadsheet will be sent out in the beginning of the semester via our email and through HPO. Once you have been trained and assessed, we will send out a spreadsheet that contains all of the events for the semester and you can start signing up for events.
Do you have general meetings? are external events the only way to be involved?
We aim to have 4-5 general meetings/non-clinical events throughout the semester. We try to make our internal events as impactful as our external events by focusing on smaller service-oriented projects. For individuals who have not passed their assessments but would still like to participate, please feel free to come to one of these events!
Do I have to be trained and assessed every semester?
We are implementing a new procedure where all members must be reassessed every year (after two semesters). This is to ensure that all of our members are up-to-date on our newest procedures and are qualified to attend our screenings. We want to be certain that we are providing the best possible services to our community.
